Thoughtful Email : Letter from the CPU.. Go Green!

Save our Earth… Go Green.

Hi,

I am with you all day long, whenever you look at me, i do give a bright radiation in response, i don't mind you being with me for more than 11 hrs on some days though i don't understand y u stare at me continuously. Still i continue to expect you to be back and stare at me when u go for your tea breaks, lunch / dinner but sometimes you don't tell me that you are leaving home and i end up waiting for you to be back for a long time. Sometimes even 2 or more days. My vision and brain goes tired. Please switch me off when you leave for the day so that i will be able to get up cheerfully to welcome you when you wake me up the next morning.

From the heart of computer
Yours sincerely,
your System's CPU :-)

Note: "Let your computer too have its nights and weekends"

Switch Off!

Your PC is the most important tool at work.
Do you realize how little you take care of it?

Take a moment to read this

After an average working day you go home to rest.
But leave your computer switched-on.

60,000 PCs running idle for >10 hours a day waste over 30 million units of power annually!

This is equivalent to 28,000 tons of CO2 emissions in a YEAR!

Powering a conventional computer all day releases 1,500 pounds of carbon dioxide.
Given that a tree absorbs between 3 to 15 pounds of carbon dioxide per year, it would take between 100 and 500 trees to offset these emissions for just a year!

Shocked? There’s more to it.

A typical desktop PC with a 17" flat panel LCD monitor requires   cid:image001.jpg@01C9B397.B318F280
about 100 watts (65 for the computer and 35 for the monitor)

of the total electricity used at least 50 percent is wasted

Did you know that your PC consumes a mere 5% of power
when it is on STANDBY mode?

Energy conservation does not have to be complex or costly.
Simple actions like switching off your computer when leaving your workspace for an extended time or keeping it on standby can make a BIG difference!

SWITCH OFF or STANDBY and YOU can help the world Go Green
